Scraperboard – House On The Bridge, Ambleside
Feb 4 2010
If you have been reading my posts you will know that I have been spending some time cleaning up my studio. As I was going through a set of draws I came across a set of prints that I had printed from a scraperboard (scratchboard) in 1985. There are 80 prints all signed and numbered. I am going to put these prints for sale at £50 (approx $80), but before I do I want to offer them to readers of this blog for less than half this price.

House On The Bridge, Ambleside, Scraperboard, 5"x6"
The print is approx 5″x6″ in size and is a drawing of an old bridge house in Ambleside in the English Lake District.
Ambleside Bridge House, which dates from the 17th century, is so named as it was built over Stock Beck in Ambleside in the Lakes to avoid land taxes. This quaint house is thought to have been either built for an apple store or summer house for the former Ambleside Hall.
However, another story is that Chairy Rigg lived here with his wife and six children, although with one room up and one room down it is a mystery as to how they all fitted in. Bridge House was purchased by a group of local people in 1926 and given to the National Trust to care for it. It became the first information and recruiting centre for the National Trust in 1926 in the country.
If you would like this print for the knock down price of £20 (approx $32) press the buy now button below.
This is a great chance to add to or start your art collection at a reasonable price. I realise that even at this knock down price you may be wary of paying without actually seeing the print so it goes without saying that if you are not pleased with your new print you will be fully re-embursed. Email me within one month (28 days) of receiving your print explaining that you have posted it back and I will repay your money.
